The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards thought newcomer The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was just marvelous, awarding it in five different categories: writing, directing, and overall comedy series, plus Lead and Supporting Actress statuettes for Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein. Limited series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story didn’t make out too shabby on Monday night either, with three wins of its own. Going into the ceremony, Netflix had the most nominations among networks, a first for the streaming service, but in the end, it just couldn’t defeat a Television Academy favorite, Game of Thrones, for Outstanding Drama.
